6 May 2014 - Testing Day 7

Seated BB Overhead Press - 125#
I seriously think there's some sort of switch that weights press when they decide they don't want to be lifted anymore - 125# didn't feel terrible, I was actually expecting to surpass my original strict press 1RM at this point, but that extra 5# made a monumental difference - I couldn't get past my head and just rode the struggle bus for a few seconds before bailing valiantly. Damn shoulders.

7:17....again, I unfortunately don't have a video to show you. Let me explain. I searched for the perfect spot where I could film and not be distracting the class before I finally settled on the porch out front. I set up the camera, started the workout, and that realize on my last set of burpees that a gust of wind blew my phone over...so I check to see how much of the workout I recorded... and find an 8 minute video of the ceiling after only like 5 KBS

However, I will say that my time wasn't that great, but I really did make an effort to not break, which I'm prone to do. I think I may have paced the burpees too slow as a result, but the KBS felt great until about 20, at which time it was almost over anyway.

RESULTS

4 Rounds + 7 reps... Sorry I don't have video evidence, every time I try to upload it to YouTube my computer craps the bed and crashes; it apparently doesn't like me uploading videos longer than 20 minutes. So anyway, I was feeling pretty froggy this morning after doing those rope climbs and tested the shoulder on some butterfly PUs. Mistake. On that 4th round I felt it go again and have been suffering a lasting ache ever since.

4 May 2014 - Testing Day 6

1RM Close Grip Bench Press - 225#
He swears it was all me...maybe perhaps a Bro-Rep, but I certainly wasn't able to do any more

1RM Power Clean - 205#
This was probably take #6....I just couldn't help but drop into the hole, I wanted to try for 210 or 215, but we unfortunately had to leave...

Honestly not terribly upset about this effort...though I wish I could have actually landed that 165. I guess that's why someone invented a next right, right?

Strength Cycle. Sign me up, Coach! This is perhaps more embarrassing than having that hot girl in class see you pick your nose and wipe the booger off on your own pant leg.

29 April 2014 - Testing Day 3

I'll tell you what....despite almost rupturing an eardrum because my music was so loud, this sucked much less than I thought it would. I was pretty pleased with the pace throughout; less pleased with the residual punishment that sidelined me for two days. Would definitely recommend this workout to others, if only for my own enjoyment of watching the struggle of those last 10 minutes.
