Wednesday 16 July, 2014


Not gonna lie...today made me feel like I should have reconsidered taking Wednesday as a rest day, I was locked in the hurt box. The back squats weren't terrible (white lie), but I've noticed that I'm actually starting to get sore more in my hip flexors than anywhere else. Steadily working the mobility! THEN came the cleans, and 165# seriously felt like 265#, which was an unwelcome and unfortunate event in my life. All of the other lifting went on without a hitch!

Part B stole my soul - when I texted you about metcons being my worst enemy, this is what I was referring to! It hurt from start to finish, and I think my time reflects it! On the bright side, I had my Brigade Commander - a full-bird Colonel - challenge me to a 3 minute burpee contest (after he frowned upon me for calling myself a Crossfitter without a Level 1 cert) and I proceeded to destroy him. I did 70, which was definitely more than enough to win, so I was happy. Showed him!!

Jerks!! I went fairly heavy today on the BTN Jerks, which I think went pretty well until the last set - I think my ego got the best of me and I couldn't nail that last rep. And then the fatigue carried over to the PP, which were a little challenging towards the end. And the jerk dip squats I went a little heavy, just to remember the feeling of sitting with the weight in the front rack.

Part B went on without a hitch, but that little WOD in Part C was much more than I bargained for, the thrusters were the rest period and then I spent almost all of the time just suffering through the Strict HSPU - my shoulders were pretty well spent by the end!

No real issues here today, the squats felt great, plus my snatches were finally coming back to form without any shoulder pain. On the other hand, my OHS are pretty terrible. Oh...and you and I are going to fight about that 400m Farmers Carry. Awful.
